One of the largest hillforts on the Lithuanian-Latvian border, this fortification in Puodkaliai dates from the 1st to the 13th century, its near-circular plateau measuring 80 by 90 meters ringed by a semicircular rampart 140 meters long and up to 5 meters high, with an outwork and surrounding moat. A 2 hectare settlement lies to its west, and a cemetery dating from the 9th to 13th century sits 650 meters further west.
