This branch of the Jurbarkas Regional Museum operated inside the classicist Zaleskiai manor house in Veliuona from 1994, displaying local history, archaeological finds, and folklore collections from the surrounding area. After more than two decades there, deteriorating conditions in the privately owned manor forced the museum to relocate on July 23, 2016. It now continues its work at Muziejaus g. 2 in Veliuona as part of the wider Jurbarkas Regional Museum network. The manor building itself traces its origins to the 15th century, after the Battle of Grunwald, when the site was a royal estate held by queens including Bona Sforza and Barbara Radziwiłł. The current classicist wooden manor house dates to the era of the Zaleski family, whose most notable member, Bishop Vladimir Zaleski, born here, served as Apostolic Delegate to India and Ceylon; after nearly a century of Zaleski ownership the estate passed to the Vaksel family. It is now managed by Olga Vakselytė, heir of the last owners; the interior is closed to visitors, though the exterior and grounds remain viewable. Founded in 1979, the museum’s collections include weapons and stone tools, photographs by Antanas Mickus documenting everyday life from 1925 to 1945, paintings from Valentinas Gerulaitis’s "LDK Veliuona" exhibition, period craftsmen’s tools, and materials related to writer Petras Cvirka.
