Zaleskių koplyčia

Graži vieta, Tauragės apskritis

This Neo-Gothic brick burial chapel was built in 1844 in Veliuona’s old cemetery, commemorating the noble Zaleski family, historically the cemetery’s most prestigious burial section for distinguished and wealthy residents. It features pointed-arch doorways and windows on a scenic elevated Nemunas riverbank site, was damaged by a WWI artillery strike through the roof and deteriorated over time, then was restored to its historical appearance in 2019 and is now a protected cultural-heritage site within the Nemunas valley landscape.
