Švč. Mergelės Marijos Ėmimo į dangų bažnyčia

Graži vieta, Kauno apskritis

A church first stood on this Raseiniai site around 1416 on the initiative of Grand Duke Vytautas. Dominican friars settled here in the 17th century and built a wooden church with an adjoining monastery, and the current Baroque-Renaissance basilica-plan church with three naves in a Latin cross layout, designed by Dominican friar architect L. Grincevičius, was completed in 1783. In December 2021 a plaque was unveiled on its façade honoring the 1830-1831 Uprising and its Raseiniai leader, Ezechielis Stanevičius.
