Truikinų spring

Graži vieta, Klaipėdos apskritis

This hydrogeological spring emerges near the village of Truikinai in the Aleksandrija eldership of Skuodas district, close to the Latvian border. Water rises from a suffusion crater roughly 15 meters across, feeding an oval basin about 5.8 by 4.5 meters wide with two distinct outflow points, one tinged yellowish-brown and the other light gray depending on the sand at each vent. Discharge measures around 11.8 liters per second and the water stays close to +8 degrees Celsius year-round before draining into the Šaltupis brook. The site was declared a hydrogeological nature monument in 1980 and remains on Lithuania's list of state-protected natural heritage objects.
