Biržai Regional Park was established in 1992 to protect a unique karst landscape spanning 14,406 hectares. It holds the red-tinted Kirkilai and Drąseikiai karst lakes, the Karajimiškis sinkhole complex with Karvės Cave, and numerous other collapse depressions and caves. The park is home to black storks, lesser spotted eagles and eight bat species. A visitor centre operates in Biržai at Rotušės g. 10, with hiking trails, an observation tower and guided excursions on offer.
