This small chapel in Suodžiai village, Šakiai district, marks the spot where a local dairy worker, Anelė Matijošaitienė, reported an apparition of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary on 14 November 1969. Soviet authorities suppressed the site, forcibly hospitalizing her and demolishing her homestead to build an airstrip; the chapel itself was built in 2002, after independence, on the former runway with funds from the Lithuanian diaspora. It remains an active Catholic pilgrimage site within the Vilkaviškis Diocese, drawing the largest crowds each year on 14 November.
