Standing near the Baltic Sea shore in Bernāti, within Nīcas pagasts, this 21-meter lattice-metal tower was first built in 1928 but had to be reconstructed in 1962 after the sea submerged the original structure in the early 1960s. Its light sits roughly 41 meters above sea level and flashes white every four seconds, visible up to 15 nautical miles offshore; the lighthouse has run in automatic mode since the 1970s. It stands within Bernāti Nature Park, a protected Natura 2000 site known for its dunes and pine-backed beaches.
