Elektrėnai Reservoir is Lithuania's third-largest artificial lake, created in 1961 by damming the Strėva River to supply cooling water for the nearby thermal power plant. The plant's warm water discharge keeps the reservoir ice-free longer than nearby lakes, and it's popular for fishing and windsurfing.
