The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary Queen of Martyrs in Elektrėnai serves a parish founded in 1989 after around 2,000 residents signed a petition for it. Construction began in 1990 to a design by architect H. K. Šilgalis, the cornerstone was blessed that same year by Bishop Juozapas Matulaitis, and the church was formally consecrated on 28 July 1996 with the papal nuncio to Lithuania in attendance. Its facade features a semicircular portal with rectangular crosses, symbolising the seventh century of Christianity in Lithuania.
