Neris Regional Park was established in 1992 to protect the winding Neris river valley between Vilnius and Kernavė and its extensive forests, which cover 87% of the park's territory. It spans about 13,685 hectares. The park is home to Europos parkas (Europe Park), an open-air sculpture museum marking the geographic center of Europe.
