This protected cultural heritage site lies 1.5 kilometers southeast of the Derkinčiai reservoir in the narrow, deep valley of the Šatas stream. It became known to archaeologists after land reclamation work uncovered two treasure hoards here, in 1938 and 1971, together holding more than 300 artifacts dated to the 9th through 11th centuries, interpreted as offerings tied to a tradition of water sacrifice to the old gods.
