The first wooden church in Šačiai was built in 1670 by Jonas Volskis, replaced by a second wooden structure in 1771. The current brick church, completed between 1881 and 1885 under priest Simonas Lukoševičius with funding from parishioners, holds three altars, a 17-stop organ, a 320 kilogram bell cast in 1860 by F. E. Harmsen in Liepāja, 14 Stations of the Cross paintings from the 19th century, and a painting of Mary, Protector of Christians, by Vladislovas Majeranovskis.
