Partizanų kapas Kruonio šile

Graži vieta, Kauno apskritis

This grave commemorates three partisans of the Didžiosios Kovos apygarda who, on the night of February 15, 1946, the eve of Lithuania's Independence Day, tried to raise the tricolor flag in Kruonis but were ambushed and killed; their bodies were displayed in the town square then dumped in nearby woods in abandoned trenches. It was later determined that 32 partisans' remains were buried in this same grove, and after Lithuania regained independence, a cross bearing the names of the dead was erected to honor them.
