Panemunių regioninis parkas

Graži vieta, Marijampolės apskritis

Panemunių regioninis parkas was established in 1992 to protect the lower Nemunas River valley landscape across Kaunas, Jurbarkas and Šakiai districts, covering about 10,162 hectares. The park follows both banks of the Nemunas for roughly 37 kilometers and contains the largest surviving stretch of the historic Nemunas defensive line, with hillforts such as Palemonas Hill and Gediminas' Grave. Renaissance era castles at Raudonė and Panemunė, along with the historic towns of Veliuona and Seredžius, lie within its boundaries. Its visitor center occupies a former inn in Šilinė village, Jurbarkas district.
