This hillfort on a promontory of the upper Nemunas terrace has a roughly triangular platform with sides about 20, 18 and 22 meters, slopes around 40 meters high, a defensive ditch with a rampart, and multiple terraces on its slopes, dated to the first millennium through the early second millennium AD. Local folklore nicknames it "Prancūzų kalnas" (French Hill), associating it with French soldiers.
