Graži vieta, Zemgale
This spring in Birži sits within the grounds of the Ūdensdzirnas recreation complex and is known locally for never freezing, even in the harshest winter frosts. A sunken collection basin has been built for easier access to the water, and stones mark the point where it emerges from the ground. Local legend holds that a young woman who washes her face here at sunrise becomes not only more beautiful but also kind-hearted, a belief that reportedly once drew unmarried women hoping to attract a suitor.
