Jurbarko "Tel Avivo" parkas is a park in the town center that during the interwar period served Jurbarkas's Jewish community, who then made up roughly 40 percent of the town's population, and stood next to the Hebrew "Herzl" gymnasium, which closed in 1932 for lack of funds. Locals called it Tel Avivo park, or žydsodis (Jewish garden), and the name has stuck even though the grounds today house the Jurbarkas district public library. It remains one of the few visible traces of the town's pre-war Jewish community, most of whom perished in the Holocaust.
