Built at the site where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to shepherd children in 1608, this 44 meter chapel in Šiluva was designed by architect Antanas Vivulskis to mark the apparition's approaching 300th anniversary. Maironis blessed its cornerstone in 1912 and it was completed in 1924. Inside, an altar rests on the Apparition Stone beneath a sculpture of the Virgin Mary, with two angel sculptures added at the entrance in 1999 by sculptor Robertas Antinis and his son, following the architect's original design. The chapel, along with the adjoining Chapel of Light, its crypts and supporting walls, was designated state-protected cultural heritage in 2024.
