Opened on January 1, 1939 with 500 books and 93 registered readers, this public library moved into its current Skuodas building in 1963 and has since grown to include a Music Department, established in 1966, and a Children's Literature section dating to 1953. In 2015 it was named after Lithuanian writer Romualdas Granauskas.
