Latvių liaudies ženklų parkas

Graži vieta, Zemgale

Wooden carvings of traditional Latvian folk symbols line a landscaped park in the village of Leimaņi, part of Leimaņi Parish in Jēkabpils Municipality. The first signs went up in 2008 next to the local community house, and by 2018 the collection had grown to eleven symbols, all carved by craftsman Dainis Vecums. Plantings around the park echo each symbol’s meaning, for instance willows near the thunder sign Pērkons and forsythia by Ūsiņš, the sign tied to spring. The park has become a recognizable landmark of the Sēlija region, maintained jointly by the municipality and the local Akācija Pluss association.
