Route 786 loops roughly 27 kilometers around Lake Svente, one of Latvia's deepest and clearest lakes, following mostly gravel and dirt roads through the Svente nature park inside the Augšzeme protected landscape area. Cyclists pass the renovated Svente Manor, a collection of military vehicles, the landscaped Jaunsvente manor park, and wooden promenade platforms along the lakeshore. A side detour through the Egļukalns forest trail reveals moss-covered boulders and World War I era trench remains among the oaks.
