Vaclovas Intas, founder of the Mosėdis stone museum, was born on November 14, 1927 in Kivyliai to Benigna Kovaitė and Stanislovas Intas, the fourth of five sons. The surrounding landscape of the Apšė and Sartis river valleys, the Viršilai pine forests and views toward Latvia's woods shaped his early love of nature; the Kaltis and Vereta streams meet near Spiginas, and his uncle Petras once ran a water mill on the Sartis River in Viršilai that young Vaclovas frequently visited. The Intas family homestead stood along the Kivyliai-Klaišiai road.
