Vištytis Lake sits on Lithuania's southwestern border with Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast, making it one of the country's largest lakes, though only about a third of its area lies on the Lithuanian side. It reaches roughly 54 meters at its deepest and hosts 23 fish species, including the prized whitefish and vendace that thrive in its cold depths.
