Didysis liepų kalnas

Graži vieta, Latgale

Lielais Liepukalns rises to about 289 meters in Kaunata parish, within Rāznas National Park, making it the highest point in the Latgale region. A saddle roughly 64 meters deep separates it from the neighboring Dzērkaļu hill 700 meters away, and both are covered in spruce and mixed forest. An 830-meter trail leads from the parking area to a 34-meter wooden observation tower, the tallest of its kind in Latvia, with views over Lake Rāzna and the surrounding lakes. The hill has held nature reserve protection status since 1977.
