The Gruzdžiai-Gubernija forests form a large woodland massif, about 10,300 hectares, spanning Šiauliai and Joniškis districts. It begins just 2 km northwest of Šiauliai and stretches roughly 18 km north to the Mūša river, with around 8,800 hectares actually forested.
