Troškūnai forest is one of the largest forest massifs in Anykščiai district, alongside Šimonys forest, spreading over moraine plains west and south of Troškūnai. It's dominated by spruce, including some of the largest spruce stands in Lithuania. The Troškūnai forestry office runs a Forest Museum with animal, plant and insect collections, plus a nature trail featuring a 500-year-old oak.
