Graži vieta, Kauno apskritis
Kaunas's Ąžuolynas ("Oak Grove") covers about 84 hectares and is described as the largest urban stand of mature oaks in Europe, with trees aged 100 to 320 years - a remnant of a much larger forest logged for building and ship timber between the 14th and 19th centuries. It holds Kaunas Zoo (founded 1938), the Valley of Songs open-air amphitheatre (1966), and a valley named for poet Adam Mickiewicz, who reportedly rested there during his years teaching in Kaunas.
