Graži vieta, Kauno apskritis
Built between 1891 and 1895 as a Russian Orthodox garrison cathedral for the Kaunas Fortress garrison, this Neo-Byzantine church - locally known as "Soboras" - is a five-domed structure about 50 metres tall, faced in three shades of sandstone with 266 exterior columns and pilasters. After WWI it was reconsecrated as a Roman Catholic church in 1919; under Soviet rule from 1965 it served as a stained-glass and sculpture gallery before returning to Catholic worship after independence, and its underground level now also houses the Kaunas Museum for the Blind.
