This swimming spot sits on the Pedeli River, which has been dammed into small lakes running through Valga town center near the Tartu and Pikk street junction. A small sandy area gives easy access to the water, with a beach cafe and water bike rentals operating in summer. The surrounding Pedeli recreation area includes playgrounds, sports equipment and picnic spots, and a paved path of about 5 kilometers follows the lakes and crosses into Latvia along its route. Water samples from the beach are taken roughly once a month during the swimming season.
