Paplūdimys, Hiiumaa
The sandy beach at Suuresadama sits right beside Suursadam harbour, one of the most historically significant ports on Hiiumaa's north coast. Suursadam was a major 19th century shipbuilding and trading harbor; the barque Hioma, built there, was the first Estonian-built ship to sail around Cape Horn and returned home to the port in 1857. The old customs house from that era still stands on the shore and today houses the Ungru restaurant and guesthouse, with the adjoining Ungru holiday houses offering shower and changing facilities next to the beach.
