Graži vieta, Šiaulių apskritis
Sitting between the villages of Kubiliai and Papušynis in the Kelmė district, this hillfort occupies elevated ground at the confluence of the Dubysa and Gryžuva rivers and is also known as Birutkalnis or Papušynio piliakalnis. Dated to around the turn of the first and second millennia, its platform runs roughly 120 by 87 meters north to south, bordered by slopes 8 to 20 meters high on most sides. Long damaged by plowing and now overgrown with planted pine and spruce, it remains the largest hillfort in the Kelmė district even though part of its northeastern plateau has eroded bare.
