Graži vieta, Kauno apskritis
Spanning 2.3 hectares in Kaunas's Aleksotas district near Fort II of the Kaunas Fortress, this rectangular green space began as Soviet-era institute land earmarked for greenery in 1959, then was shaped over the decades by residents who planted trees and dug its ponds by hand. It gained official park status in 2001 and today holds a grove of roughly 70 oak trees about 25 years old alongside chestnuts and lindens, small ponds favored by waterfowl, a wooden sculpture called 'Singing to Lithuania' marking the country's millennium, plus a stage and outdoor exercise equipment added during a later renovation funded in part by the European Regional Development Fund.
