Lielplatones manor park

Graži vieta, Zemgale

Spread across roughly 20 hectares around the Lielplatone manor house, this park lets visitors wander restored paths and bridges past a pond, a chapel, servants’ quarters and the burial ground of the Hahn family who owned the estate. The main manor building dates to 1845-1860, designed by Kurzeme governorate architect E. J. A. Strauss, while the grounds’ 19th-century laundry house was restored in 2018 and now operates as a small museum with washing demonstrations. Two contemporary art installations, "Mīlestība" (Love) and "Saruna" (Conversation), are placed among the older structures, and the estate also hosts a donated bell collection viewable by appointment.
