Graži vieta, Kauno apskritis
This settlement grew from 1860, when the St. Petersburg-Warsaw railway branch through Lentvaris, Kaunas and Virbalis was built, opening in 1862; it was then the largest intermediate station between Vilnius and Kaunas, with a locomotive depot and workshops later relocated to Kaišiadorys in 1874. The station witnessed an 1863 uprising participant's arrest, 1919 fighting between Lithuanian and Red Army forces, a 1941 deportation train stopping there, a 1942 partisan sabotage action, a 1944 attack on a retreating German train, and multiple later train accidents.
