Juozapas Stakauskas, director of the Vilnius State Archive under German occupation, who with Vladas Žemaitis and nun Marija Mikulska rescued 12 Jews from the Vilnius ghetto, including future renowned painter Samuelis Bakas, and was awarded the Cross for Saving the Perishing by presidential decree in 1995; and Fr.
