Melnrages Molas

Graži vieta, Klaipėdos apskritis

Melnragė jetty is usually called the northern jetty of Klaipėda port near I Melnragė beach. This is a good place in the city to watch ships entering and leaving the port, Baltic waves and sunsets. The sculpture "Walking with a fish" stands on the jetty, and a coastal path suitable for walking or cycling in the direction of Palanga begins nearby. The adjacent sandy beach has changing cabins, toilets, cafes and a lifeguard area during the season, but these services are not applied to the jetty itself and not all are open year-round. When walking on the breakwater, it is necessary to assess the wind, waves, wet or icy surface and local restriction signs; during a storm, waves can crash over the structure, so it is not safe to walk on it during such times. You have to leave the car in the permitted parking place in Melnragė and walk to the jetty.
