This memorial near Kražiai commemorates the mass killing of the town's Jewish community in July and August 1941, at sites in Kupė forest and near Medžiokalnis hill. In August 1941, 71 Kražiai Jews, including 6 adults and 65 children, were shot and buried near Medžiokalnis by Nazi occupiers and local collaborators; only around 20 members of the community survived, either hidden within Lithuania or evacuated to Soviet territory. A monument here bears an inscription in Lithuanian and Hebrew recording the date and number of victims.
