Kėdainių dvaro park

Graži vieta, Kauno apskritis

Laid out in the 18th century beside the Dotnuvėlė stream on former Radvila pastureland, this landscape park took its present form after 1845 under Count Marijonas Hutten-Čapskis, who widened the stream, dug ponds, built islands and small bridges, and planted much of the greenery seen today. Ownership passed to Russian army general Eduard Totleben after the 1863 uprising, and around 1880 he added the 28-meter Muslim minaret that still marks the grounds, built to commemorate the Crimean War. The manor buildings themselves were destroyed by German forces in 1944, but the park survived and is considered one of the earliest and most notable landscape parks in Lithuania.
