Graži vieta, Šiaulių apskritis
Local tradition holds that this hill at the edge of Tytuvėnai, at the junction of Skogalio and Šiluvos streets, was once a pagan shrine where a sacred fire burned in an oak grove, tended by priest-figures in the old Baltic religion. According to the legend, Christian missionaries met resistance here during Lithuania's conversion, and a church was eventually built on the site in the 16th century after the old faith was suppressed. Today the hill retains fragments of that former church's foundation along with several old tombstones, marking it as a physical layer of both pagan and early Christian history. It lies within reach of the well-known Tytuvėnai monastery and calvary complex, making it a stop for visitors exploring the town's religious heritage.
