Kristaus laiptų koplyčia

Graži vieta, Šiaulių apskritis

Construction of this single-story chapel in Tytuvėnai began in 1775 using stone imported from Sweden, its massive tower topped with a four-sided roof and each façade composed differently. Built in the post-Tridentine European tradition of "Holy Stairs" calvary chapels, it let pilgrims climb its steps in prayer to gain indulgences, each step holding a glass-covered reliquary of holy soil from Palestine, while the upper chapel houses a gypsum altar with a crucifix.
