This dolomite outcrop rises roughly five meters above the Lielupe river in Ziedoņi village, part of the Bauska-to-Mežotne stretch of the valley considered one of the most distinctive landscapes in Zemgale. The cliff lies within Bauska Nature Park and is a stop on local river boat tours that also pass the Bauska hillfort. Across the river stand Ziedoņi park and the former Bornsminde manor house, built around 1763 and later remodeled in classicist and then Gothic Revival style, which served as an agricultural school dormitory and later a tuberculosis hospital before passing to municipal ownership in 1993.
