Graži vieta, Vilniaus apskritis
This square has carried several names through history - a 19th-century haymarket known as St. George's Square, "Eliza Orzeszkowa Square" between the World Wars, and "Soviet Constitution Square" under Soviet rule, when it hosted parades (an earlier Kudirka monument here was removed by the Soviets in 1950). The current bronze monument to Vincas Kudirka - author of the words and music of Lithuania's national anthem, adopted in 1919 - was designed by architect Ričardas Krištopavičius and sculptor Arūnas Sakalauskas, and unveiled on 5 July 2009.
