Aizvikų dvaro parkas

Žygis, Kurzeme

Baron von Korfs laid out this 40-hectare park in the late 19th century as the grounds of Aizvīķu Manor near the village of Aizvīķi in Gramzda Parish, planting pine and spruce across the hilly terrain and adding walking paths, other tree species, and a pheasant garden. Wooden figures placed along the paths today mark spots tied to local legend, including the Dark Cellar, the Witch’s punishment place and pond, and Ghost Mountain, alongside an actual 18th-century cemetery. Two ancient hillforts, Aizvīķu and Straujienieki, stand nearby as Curonian-era sacred sites, and the former manor building now serves as a branch of a state social care home.
