Dovinės Vingis "Krokodilas"

Graži vieta, Marijampolės apskritis

Known locally as Krokodilas, this looping bend of the Dovinė River forms the centerpiece of Dovinės Vingio Parkas, a 10.74 hectare landscaped park in Netičkampis village, Marijampolė municipality. The park was laid out in the early 1950s by the former "Šešupė" collective farm as a recreation area built around a dam and pond in the river's bend, and it now holds state protection as a botanical natural heritage object. It contains an event stage, a café near the dam, a suspended footbridge over the river, and a crocodile-shaped fountain sculpture that gave the park its nickname, alongside plantings of spruce, pine and European larch.
