Dabas liegums "Blažģa ezers" is a nature reserve in South Kurzeme Municipality, covering Blažģu Lake and the surrounding Vārtāja river valley and the northern slopes of the Embūte uplands, across Embūte, Kalvene and Priekule parishes. It was established in 1999 to protect suitable habitat for the European tree frog and is part of the EU Natura 2000 network. The reserve supports eight amphibian and four reptile species, along with EU-protected habitats such as species-rich pastures, old mixed deciduous forest, and natural eutrophic lakes with floating vegetation.
