Senasis Lampėdžių beach

Paplūdimys, Kauno apskritis

This beach lies on Gervių gatvė on the southern shore of Lampėdžio ežeras (Lake Lampėdis), a lake formed by flooding a former gravel quarry in the Nemunas valley between Lampėdžiai and Žemutinieji Kaniūkai, part of the Nemunas-Nevėžis landscape reserve on the western edge of Kaunas. It is one of Kaunas municipality's five official public bathing beaches, and in 2024 the city funded a roughly 1.4 million euro reconstruction adding new changing cabins, lifeguard posts, accessible ramps, showers, and lighting. The lake stretches about 3.2 km east to west and up to 0.57 km wide, making it a substantial inland water body rather than any part of the sea.
