Senkapis, vad. Pilale

Graži vieta, Klaipėdos apskritis

This 10 meter wide, 1 meter high mound near Mosėdis served as a cemetery for the residents of Tauzai village from the 17th through 19th centuries, its burials marked by small stone circles containing ash and charcoal found 80 centimeters down. A stone fence with a chapel and cross once enclosed the site, but these fell into disrepair after the Second World War. It was registered as a local archaeological monument in 1972.
