Vipingas parks occupies part of the Vipinga microdistrict in Rēzekne, on land that belonged to Vipinga Manor, first recorded in parish documents from 1777, until the estate disappeared by the mid-20th century. The area today includes the Vipingas dendrological forest park, and in November 2020 volunteers planted a grove of 75 paper birches along with spring bulbs such as snowdrops, crocuses and anemones as part of a landscaping plan drawn up by a landscape research and planning institute. A cross-country skiing trail has since been added, giving residents a winter option alongside the park's existing walking paths and seating areas.
