Lietuvos žydų kultūrinis, ekonominis, kulinarinis paveldas Jurbarko rajono miesteliuose

Graži vieta, Tauragės apskritis

This roughly 7-hour regional route, car-assisted between towns and continued on foot within each, traces former Jewish shtetl life across Jurbarkas district. It covers Seredžius (the Palemonas hillfort and its connection to entertainer Al Jolson, born there), Veliuona (a former synagogue, hillforts and a Nemunas river panorama), Panemunė Castle and its adjoining 1610 Salesian monastery, Jurbarkas itself (a memorial to the former wooden synagogue), and Smalininkai (a former synagogue and the town’s river-port history), touching on interfaith coexistence, distinctive local Panemunė-region businesses, and the fate of Jews from the Klaipėda region, with opportunities to sample Lithuanian-Jewish cuisine along the way.
